At NYCRM, a spiritual "step" program is used to guide men through their recovery and to aid in their subsequent return to employment, family and the community.

Each resident is required to attend group and individual meetings, and they are encouraged to spend at least two hours a day studying program materials. This Bible-based program sits at the heart of what we do. Members of our ministry staff lead weekly meetings, and this time is used to chart progress, learn spiritual concepts, and lay the foundations for recovery. Every program participant also has regular counseling appointments with a staff counselor.

As our founder Jerry McAuley so aptly put it many years ago, "We clean up the outside while God cleans up the inside." Our recovery program provides a good foundation to allow God to do that interior cleaning.
