How The Mission Is Funded
New York City Rescue Mission is funded primarily through private donations from individuals like you, along with the financial support of churches and foundations. Contrary to what some may assume, NYCRM is NOT part of the city-funded shelter system.

Since 1872, our financial needs have been faithfully met by those who share our view that we must do more than simply give a man a clean bed. Our programs pay close attention to the broken spirit that lies beneath current life circumstances.
We are able to keep the average cost of a meal at $2.04 through the on-going support of organizations such as City Harvest, Food Bank For New York City and other caring organizations and people. Unfortunately, food prices have dramatically increased in the past couple of years at the same time as food pantries are being decreasingly funded.
