Overnight Lodging and Showers

Third floor dormitory bunk beds with pillows and linens. As Mission found Jerry McAuley once said, "We clean men up on the outside and God cleans them on the inside."  Often in the cycle of eating, showering, participating in chapel services and sleeping at the Mission, people get "reconnected to God."

NYC Rescue Mission can accommodate 100 men in beds each night. There are 29 beds on the second floor, reserved for men participating in our long-term Recovery Program. The remaining 71 beds are on the third floor, utilized primarily by transient overnight guests. When weather is below freezing or inclement, we lay out an additional 50 mats on our chapel floor.

Of the 100 beds in the Mission, up to 12 may be reserved by men with income (e.g. SSI, SSD, employment).  As part of the Reserved Bed Program, anyone with means is obligated to contribute a fee for services, scaled according to the amount of his income.  This program teaches responsibility and allows men the security of a guaranteed bed.

Bed sheets are washed for guests every day.  All male Mission guests have access to showers, and all overnight guests are required to shower before going to bed each evening.  We care for the cleanliness and well-being of the entire person.
