Winter 2008 Graduation Ceremony

On Thursday, February 14 New York City Rescue Mission held its winter graduation service, honoring two men who have completed the requirements for the 9 month Residential Recovery Program. The ceremony included songs from the Mission choir, speeches from a former resident and staff member, testimonies from graduates, and the presentation of certificates.

In the audience were Mission supporters, neighbors, tutors, residents, staff and former graduates. Bob Harvey, the night's featured alumnus, celebrated five years of sobriety and spoke on getting married, getting his job back and overcoming recent struggles.

Both graduates already have jobs lined up and places to live upon leaving the Mission. Troy will be going to work for his father and Vincent is working for Mercedes Benz while being reunited with his family.

The next graduation is scheduled for June 25 at 7:00 PM.
