Ocean Grove Beach Outing

Each summer, NYCRM residents and staff travel to the beach at Ocean Grove, New Jersey for a wonderful day of sun, surf and sand. Individuals relax by swimming, tossing footballs and frisbees, and enjoying a picnic lunch together.

Beyond relaxation, this excursion provides an opportunity for residents to reflect on their accomplishments and to reach out to the community. In partnership with Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association, NYCRM hosts a gospel service in an open-air pavilion on the boardwalk. There, our residents share personal testimonies as beach-goers pause to hear tales of changed lives.

The day has traditionally concluded with a great meal, sponsored by a board member of the Mission. From start to finish it's a real summer treat!
